Soul on Fire

[edit]

Why is there no mention of Cleaver’s book “Soul on Fire” his book years after “Soul on Ice”??? His story is incomplete on Wiki page 67.20.235.109 (talk) 03:30, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia: "Women's lives don't matter"

[edit]

What kind of monsters are the Wikipedia editors to describe this person as

"...an American writer and political activist who became an early leader of the Black Panther Party."

Rather than as, for instance,

"an American serial rapist and batterer of women, revered as

a writer and political activist who became an early leader of the Black Panther Party."

Do all the women he raped and battered of all colors all over the world, many of whom are probably still living, not matter? 2601:155:4280:4FA0:F4BE:857F:DA5B:78A9 (talk) 13:39, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I saw this info mentioned in his book as he admitted. Are victims still alive? Has anyone come forward? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:3C3:8380:1470:F896:E2F3:32C6:BE48 (talk) 04:54, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you can find sources you can add the information in the article. However please adhere to the WP:NPOV policy and don't express your anger at article talk pages. Timothytyy (talk) 04:59, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Careful when wikilinking Muslims

[edit]

The impetus for this post was a wikilink in the article to Muslims. I changed this to link to Nation of Islam. The rationale for this is that Eldridge Cleaver's only connection with Islam was with the Nation of Islam. Nevertheless, members of the Nation of Islam have commonly been referred to as black Muslims.

Subsequent to my changing the wikilink to Nation of Islam, the wikilink was removed, presumably for absence of a source that could establish that Eldridge Cleaver, in being described as a Muslim, should properly be interpreted as his being a member of the Nation of Islam. While this is hardly a secret, there's no assurance that anything I might find would satisfy the editor who objected to this. In plain language, I'm just not motivated enough to make this effort, especially from my perspective, which is something that with a few minutes of effort becomes "plain on its face", but that which perhaps does not properly meet the sourcing requirement.

My motivation for this note is really to make clear that this should not be changed to a wikilink to Muslims. Ideally, it would be linked to Nation of Islam, but I'm not making the effort to meet the other editor's demand to provide a source to support this wikilink.
